Doha Soy Alley

Well, I finally got around to getting off-base and seeing the sights in Doha, Qatar. It's a pretty crowded and bustling city struggling between its growing modernity and ancient history. I'm talking glass skyscrapers and trendy restaurants hobknobbing with sandy unpaved roads and tiny run-down merchant stalls.

It was nearing dusk and this old-looking structure caught my eye with its traditional construction; you can see the wooden beams poking out of it. What's strange is that it's located within 10 feet of a modern Asian fusion restaurant called Soy tucked into this alleyway.

MY friends and I were trying to find a restaurant for dinner at the time. We decided against the Asian fusion and went Lebanese instead.
